The System of Enfeoffment, also known as title granting system or feudalism, i.e. the "feudal" system in the narrow sense, falls within the category of a political system and features the granting of domains and some governance power to the family members, relatives, families of meritorious statesmen and the adherents by the central government. The patriarchal system is the basis of the system of enfeoffment: the former is reflected in the category of family and the latter in the national category.
